King's Valley Faculty

A strong faculty is the backbone of a great school. At King's Valley, our team works together to develop the talents and abilities of our students. Each of our faculty serving in a core area are certified through ACSI and/or the state of California. 

  • Rovilla Baker

    Mrs. Baker received a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the Philippines. She also holds an ACSI teaching certificate and has over 10 years of teaching experience. Mrs. Baker has a passion for science and for showing children the influence of God throughout the sciences. She is looking forward to teaching her students about the many miracles of science.

  • Heather Comer

    Mrs. Comer graduated from Salem State College with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Sociology.  She has worked primarily in a Christian school setting for the past 15 years.  She loves teaching and building the foundation of students' school careers, especially focusing on social and emotional skills.  She looks forward to watching her students grow in their minds, faith, and discovery.  

  • Joan Dusich

    Mrs. Dusich is a graduate of San Jose State University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and minors in Chemistry and Mathematics.  She has been a homeschooling mom for 13 years, educating her three eldest children from preschool thru 8th grade. In addition, she is passionate about children's ministry, serving as a teacher for almost two decades. She is very eager to impart her love of learning and love for Jesus to her students.

  • Megan Fetterly

    Ms. Fetterly graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She also has an AA in Early Childhood Education from Diablo Valley College, and is pursuing an ACSI elementary credential. She has been working in Christian education for 10 years, which gives her so much joy. Leading students in the joy of discovering what God has for them is her passion.

  • Guadalupe Gonzalez

    Mrs. Gonzalez has been teaching here at King's Valley since 2001. She enjoys teaching her students to succeed in reading, writing, and speaking a second language that will further deepen their cultural knowledge.

  • Keith Gualderama

    Dr. Gualderama holds a BA in Science and a Doctorate in Optometry. He worked as an optometrist for many years but felt a calling from the Lord to enter Christian School Education. In 2008 he launched his teaching career at Pacific Bay Christian. Dr. Gualderama enjoys working with children and in the classroom. He feels a commitment and passion for helping students grow academically and spiritually. He is looking forward to helping his students become life long learners and lifelong followers of Christ. 

  • Brienne Hertzfeldt

    Mrs. Hertzfeldt graduated from Humboldt State University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology with an emphasis in child development.  She is blessed to have worked with children from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities for the past 20 years.  She is looking forward to sharing her passion for children's literature and fostering a lifelong relationship with Christ.

  • Martha Hildreth

    Mrs. Hildreth received her BA with a double major In Psychology and Bible from Bethany Bible College. She has taught for over 20 years at King's Valley. In that time, she's been involved in nearly every elementary level and in the preschool running the successful Jump Start program.

  • Lorena Johnson

    Mrs. Johnson joined the Kings Valley Christian School and LifeChurch community in 2017. Also in 2017 she graduated with a BA in Language from San Francisco State University which realized her path to be part of the KV community in an academic realm. Her passion lies in teaching our elementary students about their value as tiny humans and encouraging them to aim high for their future by instilling in them an unshakeable self-worth and sense of pride in their achievements through structure, positive reinforcement and a big splash of fun and creativity.

  • Pamela Johnson

    Mrs. Johnson received her Master’s in Biology and Education from reputed universities in India and has over 10 years of teaching experience. She is excited to inspire her students to discover, experience the World of STEAM education, and integrate with Biblical worldview. She aspires to kindle young minds to develop creativity and problem-solving skills through fun hands-on activities.

  • Helen Karabed

    Ms. Karabed is a native of California and a graduate of Santa Clara University. She is overjoyed about joining the team at King’s Valley. She has taught and tutored students ranging from preschool to high school for over a decade. She loves creating space for young scholars to grow and flourish in their unique God-given gifts. Her deepest desire is for students to experience the love of Jesus and the unfolding narrative of God in their own lives as they learn about history. She believes every one of her students is a history maker!

  • Brandon Kearney

    Mr. Kearney received his Master’s degree in Kinesiology from Saint Mary’s College of California. He is a dedicated advocate for youth sports and education, and strongly believes that God has transformed his own life through these very aspects. He strives to live a life of faith and is devoted to sharing with others how God can move in unique ways through sports and education. He has a heart for coaching soccer and his goal is to empower youth athletes to excel physically, mentally, and spiritually. 

  • Karen Kirchner

    Miss Kirchner is a graduate from Liberty University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in English. She holds a California state teaching credential, Virginia state teaching credential with a middle school English endorsement, and an ACSI license. Miss. Kirchner firmly believes in creating a warm, welcoming classroom environment in which every student can thrive. Her goal is to ensure that each student reaches their full academic potential and grows in their walk with the Lord.

  • Kelly Klobas-Henning

    Mrs. Klobas-Henning has been an educator since 2006 and had taught a wide range of different grade levels. She earned her bachelors degree in Psychology from Saint Mary's College of California as well as her multiple subject teaching credential. She feels extremely bless to be part of the King's Valley Family and looks forward to guiding and directing her students towards success.

  • Brian McAuley

    Mr. McAuley graduated from California State University East Bay with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with the Teacher Preparation Concentration. Mr. McAuley has a passion for guiding students in growing their minds and spirituality and has been working in schools and churches his entire life. He is elated to have the opportunity to educate students on biblical truths and conventional knowledge in his classroom at Kings Valley Christian School. 

  • Sefra McAuley

    Mrs. McAuley graduated from California State University East Bay and earned her bachelors degree in Psychology. Mrs. McAuley has worked in Christian settings, teaching young children biblical truths for many years. She has a passion for building students up in their faith and knowledge. She looks forward to seeing them grow in these ways!

  • Donna Noonan

    Mrs. Noonan graduated from Fresno State with a BA in Home Economics/Family Studies Emphasis and with a minor in Spanish and Psychology. She was in full time ministry with college students and always found ways to use her gift of teaching to serve others. Since 2014 Mrs. Noonan has been a guest teacher in public and private schools and found her niche with elementary age children. She has a special place in her heart for learning about other cultures and languages and desires to pass along as she teaches. 

  • Jessica Redman

    Mrs. Redman has taught Reading Intervention primarily in kindergarten for the last six years in the Antioch School District. She attended Cal State East Bay where she received a BA in Liberal Studies with a minor in Childhood Development and a California State Teaching Credential. Prior to that she was a youth group leader in her church for over 10 years where she taught, mentored, counseled and encouraged youth. She is eager to continue to foster the love of learning to her students as well as the desire to seek the Lord in all they do.

  • Charles Rotenberry

    Mr. Charles is a theatre enthusiast with experience in both Shakespearean and Musical Theatre. He has been serving as Vice President of the Diablo Theatre Company since 2015. He has also been involved with assisting with costuming and garment maintenance for KVCS's Broadway shows. Additionally, Mr. Charles has been volunteering for King's Valley since 2012. He is currently the Director of the Performing Arts department at King's Valley. 

  • Genie Shermak

    Mrs. Shermak is a graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University, where she majored in Music with a double-emphasis on both piano and voice. Recently, while working with disadvantaged students in Antioch, she realized her passion for classroom instruction. Returning to school herself, she is currently a student at Western Governors University, where she is majoring in Special Education and will graduate with dual credentials. Mrs. Garcia has an extensive history teaching music in both private and classroom settings. 

  • Andrew Steele

    Mr. Steele has a bachelors degree from Epic Bible College in Ministerial Studies with an emphasis in Youth. He has been a youth leader in his local church for over 6 years and enjoys teaching children about the bible and the love of Jesus. He looks forward to helping the students of KVCS develop a strong relationship with Jesus and to grow in their academic knowledge. 

  • Tiffany Strohm

    I was born in Walnut Creek, raised in Concord, and I graduated from Ygnacio Valley High School. I earned an Associate of Arts degree from Diablo Valley College, then transferred to UC Santa Barbara & earned a Bachelor of Science degree. I started with King's Valley in 2022 teaching art. Now I have the privilege of teaching 6th grade math as well as art classes. I look forward to seeing each student shine, as they discover their individual talents, grow in their faith & advance on their academic journey!

  • George Curtis Van Liew

    Mr. Van Liew piloted the King's Valley band program in 2014. In the fall of 2016, he joined the staff in a bigger role as the band program continues to expand into the junior high! Besides working with the band, Mr. Van Liew is also a talented artist specializing in watercolor. His passion is to help each student find their musical talent!

  • Mary Lou Wolfe

    Mrs. Wolfe is a proud 2000 KVCS alumni! She graduated from Eugene Bible College in 2009 with a Bachelors degree in Science. Mrs. Wolfe has previously taught the 3rd grade and worked as a reading tutor. Mrs. Wolfe is passionate about investing in the future through the education and spiritual guidance of our youth. She feels called by the Lord to help her students become world changers and looks forward to an exciting journey with each student.
